In-16° (19 x 12,3 cm), pp. XI, (1), 331, (1), 4, legatura editoriale, con titoli in oro al dorso e fregio della collana "The Specialists' Series" al piatto anteriore. Nella parte superiore del dorso, nel bordo esterno, lato piatto posteriore, piccolo strappo, di 0,9 cm. Con 119 figure in bianco e nero nel testo, alcune delle quali ospitate su tre tavole ripiegate. Nell'angolo inferiore interno del contropiatto anteriore, piccola etichetta della Hoepli di Milano. Qualche leggero segno d'umido alle carte di guardia, all'occhietto e a poche pagine. A pagina 200, piccola macchia di inchiostro, di 0,3 x 0,8 cm, con testo che rimane leggibile. Un piccolo strappo nel margine superiore del foglio con le pagine 243-244 e due in quello inferiore dei fogli con le pagine 281-282 e 283-284, tutti lontano dal testo e senza perdite, ben rimarginati con carta giapponese.
