First Edition, a copy with fine provenance, being the copy inscribed and presented by the author to the American collector John Brinton. And with loosely inserted material: an envelope containing lettering sketches, presumably by Richards; a printed invitatin to an exhibition by Richards in Egypt; a news clipping regarding a lecture on etching, delivered by Richards in Alexandria. The presentation inscription also includes a small sketch by the author. Illustrated throughout and complete with 48 full-page illustrations by the author. 4to, publishers original rust-red cloth, the upper cover and spine lettered and decorated in gilt. 240 pp. An especially bright and well preserved copy in excellent condition, with a bit of the occasional foxing to the opening and closing leaves, as usual.
