LIBRO First edition. A very good copy. «Among Lithuanian avant-garde books it is the one that most fully embodies the Futurist spirit, from the cover to the theme and the poetic technique» (Salaris). Very scarce. No copies in the trade or in auctions. Only two institutional holdings according to OCLC and KVK, the one of the “Martynas Mažvydas” National Library of Lithuania (a rebound copy), and the one of Kent State Uni Library (Ohio). -- The author’s first book, an avant-garde and satirical “poem” in three parts, each one — more or less explicitly — parodying Lithuanian writer: respectively, the poets Faustas Kirša and Jouzas Tysliava, and the versatile Lithuanian-Polish writer Juozapas Albinas Herbačauskas. The parody effect is achieved by clashing the high symbolist style of the originals with lowbrow pop and typically avant-garde vocabulary. Tilvytis, after the leader Binkis, is considered the second important figure among the «Keturi Vėjai» group, and a poet of great versification skills. «T. Tilvyčio parodijų rinkinys 3 Grenadieriai (1926), gimęs Vilkolakio teatro satyrinių-parodinių improvizacijų aplinkoje, aiškiai parodo šitą literatūrinę poetinio žodžio funkciją — pamėgdžioti, komiškai stilizuoti, groteskiškai sujaukti įvairius stilistikos klodus, drastiškai išardyti melodingas struktūras ir iš naujo montuoti gabalus į pašiepiančias karikatūras [The Tilvytis’ parodies collection 3 Grenadiers (1926), belonging to the satirical environment of the Vilkolakio Theater, clearly shows this literary and poetic speech function — to imitate, comically stylize, mess up grotesque jumble of different stylistic layers, dismantle dramatic and melodic structures and re-assemble the pieces into mock cartoons]» (V. Kubilius, «Avangardinės lyrikos kryžkelėse», in XX amžiaus lietuvių lyrika, Vilnius 1982). Salaris, Futurisms in the World, p. 676
