A picture of this book is available upon request by email. A narrative of voyage in 1812-13 by Prior who was a surgeon in the Royal Navy in his youth. National Maritime Museum 216. He describes Salvador, the ill-smelling lower city and the high city with the cathedral, theatre, library. . .comments on the manners and customs, the women, dress, architecture, slave trade, jewelry industry. Prior arrived in Pernambuco, describes the city, new bridge, cotton trade. . .'.
