Description

Gutes Ex.; Einband minimal berieben. - Chinesisch; englisch. - SEMINAR "ARCHITECTURE IN A TYPOGR APHICAL CONTEXT" - In our project, which deals with architecture, use of space and typography, we attempt to examine the broad spectrum of this topic together with the students. First of all, research is of great importance. The students explore their adjacent surroundings, but also go beyond this realm, and document the vastness of this subject matter.lt is my intention that the project encompass a broad spectrum. Apart from the classic use of graphic design, typography or photography. innovative solutions in the field of new media are sought. In our daily lives, no matter where we are, we encounter innumerable examples of how architecture and typography are interconnected in the public or private sphere. Stimuli or sensations are virtually imposed upon us. When we are in a city, we get our bearings by interpreting factors particular to the location, systems of labelling, signs, etc.; the same when we are at the train station or airport. At such moments, a system of orientation is required, a system which we can follow in order to reach our desired destination. The complexity of this broad spectrum requires faultless structuring of the vast amount of information in order for us to be able to effectively orient ourselves. The optimal implementation of an information system, to which we assign formal elements, is necessary. Clarity comes first. The scope of our work in the seminar should remain extensive. The students can - and should -find their own language in the manner they choose within the broad spectrum of architecture, the use of space, also including sources of light, projection, sound, and film. Because interdisciplinary seminars are permitted at our university, it is possible for students from other departments to participate in our seminar. .
