7 vols., sm. 8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, small neat contemporary signature on front free endpapers; most attractively bound in contemporary full mottled calf, backs with five raised bands, second compartments with leather labels lettered and ruled in gilt, third compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled and ruled in gilt, sprinkled red fore-edges, backstrips mildly age-scuffed (but all gilt wholly legible) and chipped at some heads and tails, some corners lightly bruised, some joints cracked (but all bindings entirely sound) else a very good, crisp, clean set. The following points apply: vol. I wants front free endpaper, leather label chipped by half; vol. IV complete with publisher's advertisement leaf at end; vol.VI wants front free endpaper; single worm hole in lower blank margin from title to B9; vol. VII title bears the additional wording 'To which is added, an Historical and Characteristical Index. As also, a Brief History, authenticated by Original Letters, of the Treatment which the Editor has met with from certain Booksellers and Printers in Dublin. Including Observations on Mr. Faulkner's Defence of himself, published in his Irish News-Paper of Nov. 3 1753'. A most attractive copy, ideal as a gift or for presentation.
