Description

Scarce and fascinating report from the Commission set up by the Bishop of Manchester to determine the need for church provision in the region. It concluded that 28 new churches were required, along with extra mission rooms and rectories. By the time of the report many of these had been constructed or works were underway, with some of those completed featured in a section of photos. Appendices give a detailed look at each of the region's deaneries, populations, parishes, funding and current church arrangements. Light toning to some stock, moreso to page edges, but in general all in VG internal order. Blue cloth, with bright gilt titling to front, a little marked and worn. This is a charity sale for Friends Of Morston Church (reg.1099831). 8vo. 87pp + appendices
