12mo [17 x 13.5 cm]; xv, 359 pp, 20 hand colored plates including frontis, each with several figures. original blind-stamped cloth with gilt decoration and title on spine, one margin repaired, light mark on upper cover, minor foxing on few leaves, very good clean copy, spine bright. A picture of this book is available upon request by email. Besides the descriptions of coffee, tea, cocoa, cloves, cinnamon, nuts, palms, the author also describes opium, tobacco, cinchona, senna, etc. Regarding opium, the author states that 51 tons were imported in 1852.
