Edizione: rare in such pleasing condition. paul bunyan, giant symbol of the american worker, is ready to help the war effort in this entertaining book. he, along with babe the blue ox, pecos bill, and some of his fellow loggers, can do things such as swamping an enemy fleet in the pacific and bombing germany with enormous redwood logs. and wait to see what his wife has cooked up for the red cross! during the second world war children's books such as this played an important role in maintaining good morale on the home front. john rogers inkslinger was the pseudonym thomas binford who wrote this tale while serving as a corporal in the united states army.
