A picture of this book is available upon request by email. Howes K20. Sabin describes the first edition (31137) as "almost a cyclopaedia of material relating to the Indians of the explored territory. Nothing escaped the attention or record of the gentlemen who accompanied the expedition and their statements respecting the Sioux and Chippeway tribes are among the most valuable we have". This is the full record of Long's second expedition a prime source of information on the early exploration and Indian activity of the upper mid-west. The last part of the book is a vocabulary of Indian languages.
