This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Hollis Taggart Galleries in New York from May 24 to June 23, 2001. Max Kuehne (1880-1968) was born in Germany and moved to New York in 1894. He studied art with William Merritt Chase and Robert Henri. This catalog showcases his work as a modernist designer and decorator. Many pieces of furniture like hand painted screens, tables, dressers, picture frames, etc. Illustrated throughout in color, some black & white.
