8vo [23 x 15.5 cm]; 2 volumes, xxvii, 314; [viii], 303, [ii, ads of author's works] pp, 13 lithograph plates including color, mounted Woodbury photo plate, 7 colored maps, mostly folding, the colored lithograph (chromolithograph) frontis's are quite fine. original decorated cloth, gilt spine title lettering, bookplate on endpaper, spines a little used else a fine and clean set, a complete set with the half-title page in each volume. A picture of this book is available upon request by email. Based on the author's extensive travels in the area, he describes the politics at the court of the Nizam of Hyderbad in 1867-68, and provides a narrative of his several journeys in the area between 1859 and 1886. The appendix is of place names in English and local language, glossary of vernacular terms, detailed index. Yakushi T63a.
