This is a very good hardcover copy, without dust jacket as issued, with just light cover wear. Completely clean. Text in GERMAN. Erwin Gutkind (1886-1968) was born in Berlin and trained as an architect there in the style of the Neues Bauen, or Bauhaus movement. He was a member of the important architects group "The Ring of Ten," which included Hans Poelzig, Eric Mendelsohn, Ludwig Hilberseimer, the Taut brothers, Otto Bartning, Martin Wagner, and Walter Gropius, they all met at Mies van der Roheís office. He worked in Germany until 1935 when he moved first to Paris and eventually America. Most of his apartment buildings in Germany still remain in use. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania.
