Description

Second edition, in English. The first was published seven years before. Full title Electric Waves being Researches on the Propagation of Electric Action with Finite Velocity Through Space. Original editorial green cloth with gilt lettering on spine still bright, light signs of wear with tiny surface loss on the outer hinge on the back (see photo), pencil inscriptions on pastedown, endpaper browned with owner’s signature stamped, the owner signature is noted also stamped on the margin of other (six) pages without affecting text or figures, overall a G-to-VG copy of this book, scarce even in second edition. Very important, seminal book on electromagnetic radiation, a true classic of electrical science literature by the German physicist Prof. Heinrich Hertz, who demonstrated experimentally the theory of Maxwell of the electromagnetic radiation. Translated into English by D E Jones and with the Preface by Lord Kelvin. This is an original edition, not a modern reprint or reproduction.
