Splendidly illustrated with 51 finely produced colour plates from paintings, and with 11 line drawings in the text. 8vo, publisher's original tan cloth, the spine and upper cover lettered in gilt and with Egyptian motif decoration in gilt, red and green, the spine gilt lettered and decorated featuring a bust of Horus (the falcon-headed god of the sky) in green, yellow, tan, and black, t.e.g. x, 221, 2 ads. pp. A very handsome copy, the text is uncommonly clean and fresh, the plates all bright and very fine, the cloth and decorations also bright and fine, the front hinge slightly shaken.
