This study takes into account the archaeological excavations of Susa, which authenticated the description of the royal palace in the Book of Esther, and includes an appendix by Marcel-Auguste Dieulafoy (1844-1920), a French archaeologist, noted for his excavations at Susa (modern-day Shush, Iran) in 1885.
