Inscribed by the illustrator, Joshua Tolford, who ". was an important member of the Rockport/Gloucester/Cape Ann art colony. Born in Wisconsin, he studied and painted in the Gloucester/Rockport Mass. area. He was a student of Anthony Thieme. Tolford was a juried member of the Rockport Art Association from 1941-1958.
