An acount of the life of Josiah Henson, born a slave in Maryland, in 1789 who eventually escaped to Canada. He was involved in assisting other Blacks to leave through the Underground Railroad, establshed the Dawn Settlement and a school in Kent County, Ontario, served in the local Militia, and became respected Methodist MInister.
