Description

This is a very good softcover copy with just light cover wear. Completely clean inside and out. Text in Hungarian and some English translation. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Hungarian National Gallery in the winter of 2001- 2002. Istv·n Szonyi (1894- 1960) was a Hungarian painter and graphic artist. "After WWI, a new generation grew up in Hungarian art. Most of these artists became known in the 30's. The core of the exhibition is made up of the works of the Szonyi Circle (Istv·n Szonyi, Vilmos Aba-Nov·k, ErzsÈbet Korb and K·roly PatkÛ) and their followers (like Jeno Paizs Goebel). In the twenties, they were the Hungarian counterpart of international neoclassicisms." Illustrated in color and black & white. 180 works catalogued and illustrated, most in color + many smaller black & white illustrations. Chronology. Bibliography. 12" high X 8" wide, 266 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and sent with tracking.
