Description

This is a very good hardcover copy in printed red cloth covers, with only light wear outside. Inside generally clean, but foxing sporadically throughout. This report by the Director of Archeology in Baroda State, recounts the activities of the Department in the years 1936-37. Information about exploration of recently unearthed structures, finds of sculptures, coins, and other archeological material, plus conservation efforts. Also included is an appendix with the accounts of a Dutch traveller to Baroda State in 1625. This is a presentation copy signed by the author and dated 1941 on the front endpaper. The book has been less than carefully bound, in that the pages show wrinkling down the center or "gutter" of the book where the pages are glued together. 14 plates in black & white, including 1 color plate of a fresco. Large slender 4to, 12" high X 8" wide, 46 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
