Book is solid, square and with creaseless covers and spine, very light shelf wear to covers, sharp corners, a tiny blemish of wear half way down spine, lower and upper spine at back show very small wear marks also, foxing to page ends and on half-title page at signature only. 202 pages in two sections and 18 chapters, with many subsections. Section one: The Principles of Aikido, with chapters: Human life, The value of our existence, Unification of the body and the spirit, Breathing methods, The single spot in the lower abdomen -- seika-no-itten, Relaxing, Mastering the single spot in the lower abdomen, The basic principles of Ki, The divine spirit, The spirit of love and protection for all things. Section two: The Aikido Way of Life, with chapters: Getting up, Sleep, The subconscious, The simple way, Eating, Our faces our eyes and the way we speak, The principle of non-disension, The unity of calm and action, Rules for beginners, Rules for instructors. With Conclusion and Appendix: Thirteen rules for aikido instructors. Signed and dated on half title page by author (Sept 14, 1974) with Japanese script above. On title page, in the phrase "10 th DAN" the number "10" has been changed to its current form with a pen and the phrase "The chief instructor at Aikido Headquarters" has been crossed out, as has been crossed out on the blurb "about the author" on the back inside fold of the cover, below the Mr. Tohei's portrait. A stamp has been inserted on the title page also, titled "KI NO KENKYUKAI H.Q." with the address and phone #. Nice document. Rare.
