Sie wurde nach dem Vorbild der etwa 80 Jahre �eren Trajanss�e erbaut. � Das in 23 Windungen spiralf�rmig aufsteigende, urspr�nglich bemalte Bildrelief mit 116 Szenen, in denen Mark Aurel 62-mal auftaucht, wurde von mehreren K�nstlern geschaffen.
