8vo (180x110 mm), contemporary half vellum binding, marbled paper at boards, handwritten title at spine; pp. 102; (6), (2 b.), 148, (1) folding plate; XIV, (2), 47, (1 b.); 33, (29 folding plates. Each work has its own title-page; some head-pieces; three plates, among which one is the reproduction of a portion of the letter and the others show some statues. Among the four collections, the first is the correspondence of the famous poet Metastasio with Mattia Damiani da Volterra, who was also a poet and scientist of the 700, the author of a series of curious "scientific poetry". The correspondence lasted from 1732 to 1776, the year of the Damiani death. Pietro Metastasio (1698-1782) was an Italian poet, librettist, playwright, arcade pastor, abbot; pseudonym of Pietro Trapassi. Pietro Giordani (1774-1848) was a scholar and patriot of Piacenza, poet, essayist, professor of eloquence at the University of Bologna. Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) was a sculptor, painter, architect and poet. Sebastiano Ciampi (1769–1847) was a priest, philologist and Slavist Italian.
