Descripción

Paris, Gide et J. Baudry, [1854]-1855. Large 4to (31.8 x 24.8 cm). 164 pp., Ten engraved plates. Disbound. = A fine, illustrated monograph by the French botanist Louis René Étienne Tulasne (1815-1885). He was generally known as "Edmond", but here named, in Latin, "Ludovicus-Renatus." The descriptions are quite detailed, as are the illustrations which were made by his brother, Charles Tulasne (1816-1884). With an index to scientific and vernacular names. Published in the Muséum's Archives, volume 8. With wide margins. A few text pages a bit spotted, last two plates with a marginal water stain and more spotted, otherwise a very good copy. Rare. Stafleu and Cowan, 15310.
