Descripción

Presumed First Edition. Profusely illustrated by Gavarni, Daumier, Bertall, Valentin and others. 4to, now bound in modern black silk, with a morocco spine label gilt lettered. A fine copy with a small stain at the bottom edge of the lower blank margin of some leaves and at no point ever coming close to the text.

Edizione: illustrated on every page, and an unusually nice copy. these caricatures of the behavior and society of various french professional groups are accompanied by drawings highlighting the traits that are supposed to be special to them. they were written by the french journalist albert millaud under the pseudonym "la bruy?re".
