8vo., First Edition, with a folding engraved map as frontispiece (lightly spotted, short tear in one fold, outer margin neatly and expertly repaired), engraved and mounted title, and 6 mounted steel-engraved plates, some light marginal foxing; strongly bound in later nineteenth century half calf, back gilt with five raised bands, morocco label gilt, red sprinkled edges, joints lightly rubbed else a very good, bright, crisp, clean copy. With personal bookplate on front free endpaper. This copy has been bound, as is usual, without the extra plate 'Arundel Castle', not called for in the list of plates but mentioned on p.382 (see Holloway, p.111). Anderson p.277; Holloway 99.
