This is a fine hardcover copy with almost no wear. The vellum dust jacket has a few tiny closed tears. Completely clean inside and out. Binding firm. This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Christie's in London on December 8, 1994. Sale code: HOUGHTON- 5266. The sale consisted of the Cholmondeley Family and Sir Philip Sassoon collections. Essays on the creation of Houghton by John Cornforth, also an essay by James Knox on Sir Philip Sassoon, an essay on the Walpole, Rothschild, Sassoon and Cholmondeley families. 147 lots in the sale, many with extensive entries.
