Signed 'Best Wishes (name crossed out) Regards Pat Lowther' No other marks or inscriptions. Appears unread. A very clean very tight copy with unmarked black cloth boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn with slight creasing to upper edge and minor traces of storage. 236pp. Autobiography of a woman originally from Newcastle and of her struggle to survive halfway across the world with her four children and her husband who has descended into alcoholism. It covers the Second World War, her work with the Salvation Army and her sadness at their treatment of her as a widow in South Africa. At the end of her career and back in the UK she worked in the House of Commons as the officer who paid the MPs their office costs.
