Description

8vo., Fourth Impression, neat contemporary signature on front paste-down,free endpapers faintly browned; original orange cloth, upper board framed and lettered in black, backstrip blocked and lettered in black, a remarkably bright, fresh copy. With 8pp of publisher's advertisements at end. Dedicated to E Phillips Oppenheim and first published in 1930, this is the third collection of Wooster & Jeeves short stories, the eleven tales containing some of their most famous adventures. This UK edition contains an extra Preface by Plum, together with three textual changes. Here one of Tuppy Glossop's most notorious capers is retitled 'The Ordeal of Young Tuppy' - clearly a great improvement on the 'Tuppy Changes His Mind' of the US edition. Connolly 48(i); Jasen 43a (recording the first edition).
