sm 4to [27 x 19 cm]; xxi, 455, [i] pp, colorfrontis map, numerous tinted plates & illustrations from drawings by Edy Legrand, pictorial endpapers, includes a copy of the LEC prospectus, four-pages, giving much interesting background, inserted loose. original pictorial cloth covers, natural linen stamped in brown, and Arabian-style enclosure flap, spine bit darkened, but a fine copy. A picture of this book is available upon request by email. First published in 1908, this is an attractive production of this classic, well-illustrated, and with an introduction by T. E. Lawrence and a preface by Edward Garnett. The illustrations are brush drawings by Edy Legrand, made along the same route as taken by Doughty.
