Description

26pp. In his day, F. D. R. has perhaps incited more personal hatred than any other President of the U. S., more than Theodore Roosevelt, more than Woodrow Wilson. This hatred is almost entirely restricted to the propertied class of which Roosevelt himself was a member, and the extraordinary fact is that his most bitter enemies have had their incomes restored and their bank balances replenished since he took office in 1933. What is the explanation? Or will this hatred go down in history as the major irony of it's time? In this pamphlet, which in part appeared first as an article in Harper's Magazine, the author has gathered together shocking examples of the mud-slinging we can expect in the 1936 Presidential campaign; and out of his unreasonable findings he tries to evolve a reasonable attitude, for his opponents as well as supporters of the President. His disclosures will give pause to every thoughtful reader who applauds justice and instinctively resents having national events dictated by hysterical choler.
