4 volumes. The First Edition in which the author's works appear together exactly as the author left them, also the most complete edition of Goldsmith's works gathered up to the time. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece portrait in volume one and engraved title page vignettes in each volume . 12mo, handsomely bound in antique 3/4 red calf over red cloth covered boards, the spines with raised bands separating the compartments, elaborate gilt tooled panels within the compartments, two green morocco labels gilt lettered and numbered, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled. xii, 458; 487; iv, 447; 450 pp. A pleasing, clean and well preserved set in handsome, decorated bindings, minor rubbing or evidence of shelving, on volume with evidence of old damp at the bottom edge and to the lower right corner of the title leaf.
