Description

This is a very good hardcover copy long ago released from a reference library and bearing one bookplate on the inside front cover, a number on the spine, and a small circular stamp on the last page. No card pockets or other marks. Simply bound in gray blue buckram, ruled and titled in gilt on the spine. This volume contains the issues from January through June 1928. Each of the 6 issues is full of fascinating literary, cultural and historical material. Extensive 'list of contributions' at the beginning of the volume list articles of all six issues in alphabetical order. Covers not bound in. Each issue has a color frontispiece and a number of black & white illustrations or photographs. Anglo-Indian relations, Colonialism, Indian literature, Bengali literature, Rabindranath Tagore, women's issues, Orientalists, socially prominent Europeans or South Americans in India, the range of topics dealt with difficult to summarize. Hundreds of articles and probably thousands of book reviews and other newsworthy notices. 10" high X 7" wide, 768 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
