Description

A nice association copy with the bookplate of Rowland Leonard Watson to front pastedown. Watson was a friend to Eleanor Farjeon and the descendants of the Dymock Poets. He was secretary of the fund to establish the Edward Thomas memorial at Steep. He clearly acquired this volume secondhand as it is ex-lib, with remains of Boots library sticker to front and issue sheets to rear. Bar light spotting and toning to endpapers, all is in generally good internal order. 'S' stamped to bottom of block. Green cloth dulled and well worn, especially to spine, with wear at foot and split along joint at top. A scarce volume, but not in the best condition, and this reflected in the price. 8vo. 221pp
