Description

This is a very good hardcover copy in red cloth covers titled in gilt. This is the first edition of Alger's influential treatise on naval gunnery, not the more common second edition of 1917. With the date of 1915 on the title-page, copyright page and at the base of the spine and also on the front cover beneath the title. Very clean inside and just light faint soil to the cloth covers. The manilla envelope with the 'Probability Table' is intact with the table inside, on the inside rear cover. Two previous owner names on the front endpaper, one that of a Texan Brigadier General, active from 1906-1940. Three fold-out plates or charts intact. 10 1/2" high X 6 1/2" wide, 329 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
