The Bagster Edition. Illustrated with 50 plates including the Vignette half-title showing the title to the first edition, engraved portrait frontispieces of Walton and Cotton, many illustrations of fish within the text, many full page engraved plates in black and white, 2 pages of engraved music, some additional wood cuts in the text, collated complete as called for. 8vo, bound in full straight-grain green morocco, the covers with double gilt fillet rules at the borders and gilt corner pieces, the spine with raised bands, gilt ruled compartments tooled with panels in gilt and central gilt motifs of fish and fishing equipment, lettered in gilt in one compartment, watered red silk doublures and endleaves, turnovers elaborately gilt decorated with double borders in gilt and designs of fish and flies gilt within the borders, all edges gilt. [x], 514, [20 Index] pp. A fine copy, the binding is strong, the text-block and illustrations are clean and well preserved, the spine panel of the green morocco mellowed as normal.
