3 volumes. First Edition, and the First English edition preceding the American counterpart and a copy with pleasing provenance. 8vo, in very handsome contemporary bindings of full calf. The spines with central gilt thistle devices in delicately gilt framed compartments which are separated by gilt ruled raised bans, two compartmetns with dark brown morocco labels gilt ruled and lettered, board edges gilt tooled, turn-ins tooled in blind. Each volume with central gilt arms of George James Welbore, Lord Dover on the boards within a gilt and blind ruled frame, page edges and endpapers marbled. iv, 292; 309; 286 pp. A very fine and handsome set with good provenance.
