Bella edizione illustrata del 1574 della celebre opera satirica a cura dell'umanista e soldato Hatmann Schopper (1542-1595). Traduzione in lingua latina a cura di Reineke Fuchs. Il ciclo di racconti "Le Roman de Renart" è una raccolta di fiabe medievali del XII e XIII secolo nel quale gli animali agiscono al posto degli esseri umani. Principali protagonisti sono Renart la volpe affiancato dal lupo Ysengrin e dal re-leone. Il testo è impreziosito da 52 finissime xilografie a mezza pagina incise da Jost Amman (1539-1562) alcune delle quali basate sulle famose illustrazioni create da Virgil Solis (1514-1562) già presenti nella prima traduzione latina del 1567. Le xilografie alle pagine 1, 33, 56, 96, 108 (ripetute nella 332 e 338), 465, 476 e 485 di Jost Amman riportano monogramma "IA" o solo "A" Marca editoriale al frontespizio e all'ultima carta che riporta la data 1575. The cycle of tales "Le Roman de Renart" is a collection of medieval tales of 12th and 13th century in which the animals interact n the place of human beings. The main carachters are Renart the fox with the wolf Ysengrin and the King Lion. The text is enriched by 52 very fine half-page woodcuts engraved by Jost Amman (1539-1562) some of them are based on the famous illustrations created by Virgil Solis (1514-1562) that already appeared in the first latin translation of 1567. The woodcuts in pages 1, 33, 56, 96, 108 (reapeted in 332 and 338), 465, 476 and 485 by Jost Amman have the monogram "IA" or only "A" Editorial mark in the title page and in the last page with date 1575.
