Description

First edition. Illustrated by Clyde O. DeLand with a colourplate frontispiece, five plates in black and white, and with pictorial embellishments to the start of chapter one, the table of contents and the list of illustrations. The forward/dedication are in manuscript facsimile and a final colourplate pastedown to the upper cover. 8vo, in the publisher's original black cloth, the upper cover gilt lettered and with gilt frame around a large colour pastdown, the spine gilt lettered. xiii, 298pp. A nice and well preserved copy, the text is still very fresh with only a very few occasional and light spots, block a bit shaken as is commonly found, the black cloth is fresh with a bit of minor edgewear, the upper cover gilt vivid and bright, a bit of minor rubbing to pastedown, the gilt on the spine dulled a bit.

Edizione: kauffman's popular story of the days of the american revolution. while the work is called "another excerpt" of the rountree chronicles it is entirely complete within itself. a blend of fiction with fact, seventy-six! tells of a boy, geoffrey rowntree, who gets into unexpected adventures involved with the signing of the declaration of independence.
