8vo [22 x 13.5 cm]; [xviii], 523 pp, folding partly colored map (split at fold), with the list of subscribers, with the original heavy paper printed wraps, as issued by printer, bound in. contemporary half red morocco with marbled boards and endpapers, top edge gilted, spine rebacked with cloth, preserving original spine and boards, gilt spine title lettering, edges and joints worn, interior clean, good. The narrative of the author's extensive travels in mostly Moslem countries in 1831 to 1834 including Yemen and Abyssinia, with descriptions of the peoples in many communities in each country visited including the Jews and Moslems in each place, conditions, society, etc.
