Description

Inscription on reverse of frontispiece. No other marks. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket price clipped but not marked with nicks to corners, slight sunning to spine and well creased. 281pp. Biography of the man who started lowly and became General Manager of Boston Mills in Hyde, Cheshire. Born in 1817, he worked his way up as a textile worker and left his mark on the town by donating the clock still seen on the Town Hall and the bells therein.
