ONE OF ONLY 20 COPIES PRINTED of this extremely amusing collection of eighteen joke epitaphs composed by French artist Jacques Nam for his close friends, including several figures of note (such as Julien Arpels, a key player in the Van Cleef & Arpels dynasty). Edition limited to only 20 numbered copies, each signed by Nam, of which this is copy 19. Printed in black and red on fine laid paper. Macabre frontispiece illustration by Nam. This is a presentation copy for Léon Christophe and includes, exceptionally, A LONG MANUSCRIPT "EPITAPH" COMPOSED BY NAM (in purple ink) FOR CHRISTOPHE AND SIGNED AND DATED BY NAM. 8vo. Marbled wraps with printed paper label. Wraps worn at spine by still structurally solid. Otherwise FINE AND BRIGHT. Of the greatest rarity: no copies in BN, WorldCat, NUC, or anywhere else I looked.
