The volume contains the dedicatory letter to Sir William Parry (All'Illustre Signore, il Sig. Guglielmo Parry, nobile britanno), made in Venice on the 15th of April, 1583, by Francesco Sansovino; following on, the table of contents, then the Avvertimenti politici by Guicciardini, the Avvedimenti civili by Lottini and the Concetti politici by Sansovino. Francesco Guicciardini (1483-1540) was an Italian historian and statesman (diplomatic advisor both for the Papacy and for the Florentine Republic and the the Medici family). Francesco Tatti da Sansovino (1521-1586) was a versatile Italian scholar and man of letters, also known as a publisher.
