8vo., First Edition, with frontispiece, 16 plates and full-page map; black cloth, upper board and backstrip blocked and lettered in gilt, a very good, bright, clean copy. Baroness de la Grange, affectionately known as 'Mother of the British Army', remained hostess throughout the duration of the war. Numerous British and Commonwealth units were headquartered there, including Allenby and 1 ANZAC.
