The author was sent by the Dominion Wildlife Service to the Barren lands of Keewatin to investigate the wolf population. This book is the entertaining account of his adventures there. His conviction that the wolves were much maligned as being a problem gained popular support for his contention that wolves be recognized as an integral part of the northern ecosystem. When challenged on the veracity of this book he commented. "I took some pride in having it known that I never let facts get in the way of a good story." 247p.Nice clean copy of the first edition but in 2nd. state book jacket by Frank Newfeld.
