Description

This is an almost very good softcover copy, the front cover left edge is sunned. The front cover is red with the Moscow Art Theatre iconic white bird in flight, over some wavy horizontal black lines. Completely clean, inside and out. Text pages slightly tanning at the edges. This program was prepared to accompany the 1965 season, when Sol Hurok brought the Moscow Art Theatre to America. The productions this season were: Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, The Three Sisters, an adaptation of Gogol's Dead Souls, and Nikolai Pogodin's Kremlin Chimes. Lots of biographical information about the Moscow Art Theatre actors and actresses. Essays by Konstantin Stanislavsky 'Before the Moscow Art Theatre', also a continuation of this essay by Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko, an essay by Director of MAT, and also one by Joshua Logan. Small black & white photographs of all the MAT personnel. Also b/w photos from the stage sets. 6 page list of the 180 dramatic works in the MAT repertoire. 12" high X 9" wide, about 30 pages. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.
