12mo (136x70 mm), contemporary full vellum binding, handwritten title at spine, red sprinkled edges; 2 volumes (out of 3; 1st and 3rd tomes only); pp. 552; 511, [1 b.]. Xyl. vignette at title-pages. Including at p. 302 of the third tome: “In M. Antonium Philippicarum Liber I [-XIV].” A FINE REMONDINI EDITION OF THIS CLASSIC WORK BY CICERO. TWO VOLUME OUT OF THREE. Marcus Tullius Cicero (3 January 106 BC – 7 December 43 BC) was a Roman philosopher, politician, lawyer, orator, political theorist, consul, and constitutionalist. He came from a wealthy municipal family of the Roman equestrian order, and is widely considered one of Rome's greatest orators and prose stylists. Ref.: IT\ICCU\RAVE\010426. Cond.: Traces of use to the binding; handmade decorative drawing at 3rd v. front board, partially cutting the parchment; light browning at free-leaves; occasional foxing at some leaves.
