Description

This is a very good softcover copy with almost no wear. Slight small dent to the top left corner of the front cover near the spine, (not visible internally), probably a binding flaw. Completely clean inside and out. The spine is not creased, binding firm. Text in Japanese and English. This catalog was prepared to accompany the large traveling exhibition in Japan that started at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art from April 28 to June 11, 2000, and then traveled to four other museums. This exhibition of art glass by Emile GallÈ was entirely drawn from Japanese museums and private collections in Japan. This is the largest exhibition of Emile Galle glass ever circulated in Japan. Essays by Philippe Thiebaut, Kiyoshi Suzuki, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Makoto Ido, and Yoriko Mizuta. Chronology. Glossary. Bibliography. 111 works in the exhibition. All illustrated in color + vintage or archival photographs of Emile Galle and colleagues in their glass workshops. 12" high X 9" wide, 263 pages. Scarce. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
