This is a near fine softcover 2 volume set of this historic sale. Both catalogs are completely clean inside and out, no marks to lots or illustrations. Just a little wear to the top of the spine of volume 2. These are sale catalogs for an auction held in Northamptonshire, England on May 17-19, 2005. Sale code: L05500 "EASTON". Easton Neston was begun in the middle ages and expanded in subsequent centuries. Nicolas Hawksmoor was responsible for the Palladian style facade that became Easton Neston's trademark. William Kent contributed a chimney piece for the Saloon. Lengthy essay by James Miller on the history of Easton Neston and its' inhabitants. Bibliography. 310 lots in Part 1. Lots 320 to 623 in Part 2. All illustrated in color. 11" high X 9" wide. Heavy books, foreign shipping will be extra.
