This is a fine hardcover copy with a near fine illustrated hardshell pictorial slipcase. The slipcase has a little wear at the corners. Heavy mylar dust wrapper, has a chip at the top of the spine. Completely clean inside and out. Massive visual compilation of 16 ancient Greek theaters in Anatolia (present day Turkey). R. R. R. Smith is perhaps the pre-eminent scholar of this part of the ancient world. He has been in charge of excavating the antiquities of Aphrodisias in the 1980's. Since 1995 he has been the Lincoln Professor of Classical Archaeology and Art at the University of Oxford. Each one of the 16 ancient theaters is presented with 174 detailed color photographs, technical drawings, architectural elevations and floor plans, etc. Texts by R.R.R. Smith and Jane Messeglia. Photography by Ahmet Ertug. Oversize volume: 14" high X 18" wide, 208 pages. Weight before wrapping is 14 lbs. 6 ounces. Large very heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra.
